DBR ARTIST MANAGEMENT
D'honcho has been passionate about music from an early age collecting 7 and 12" vinyl by visiting record stores most weekends. Although D'honcho did not take to dj'ing until he was 21, he started playing styles of music from speed garage/uk garage then started moving into the trance scene and hard dance.Although he had been changing his style of music he was mixing D'honcho always collected house music and was not until visiting a few different clubs and hearing different house styles played by some great dj's he decided to put his house music collection to work. D'honcho's first gig was for the passion pre party @ the engineers in coalville where he was given a one hour slot to rock the crowd.Although very nervous to play to a crowd of people D'honcho played a set which demonstrated his technical ability, great track selection and the ability to captivate the crowd leaving them wanting to hear more. It was not too long after his debeut gig he was playing at other venues and secured his first residency @ Helsinki bar Leicester where he played funky house and afro/baleric house music twice a month for about a year.Thats when D'honcho's music style was to progress again to west coast/tribal/tech house heavily influenced by dj's and artists such as Joeski/Onionz/x-press 2 and Harry choo choo just to name a few. Still using his technical knowledge and ability applied this to his new sound which at times could be quite deep but the use of well known vocals layed on top of the track made it seem somehow familiar to the crowd.D'honcho found this to be a great tool for breaking in new tracks gently to clubbers and could allow him to play deeper track's in places you would not expect to hear that type of music. His process of blending and layering tracks got him noticed by Subliminal record's boss Erick morrillo which in turn secured him a slot at the " End club "london for Subliminal sessions where again he left the crowd reeling for more. A short time after subliminal sessions D'honcho secured another residency @ summit , a brand new super club in wisbech where he was to continue with this style of music that he was getting known for.Playing at his residency for summit he forged a strong frienship with fellow resident Lee guthrie to form "future dub" which was a five deck two mixer set up with both of us blending our sounds to keep clubbers dancing and played along guest dj's every saturday night. Even though D'honcho had secured residencies he was getting booked to play at various venues up and down the country from london to leeds and inbetween for nights such as Adaptation music label nights/subliminal sessions/structure/switch/supernova/it's a spiritual thing/passion plus many more. D'honcho has regulary appeared at" Seed" hosted by "collo"( 2008 pioneer dj champion) and various bars and clubs in the leicester area. Over the years D'honcho has hosted radio shows on pressure radio/ssradio and wtc house radio where he has played styles from afro/baleric soulful to deep house u.s house and underground,He recently did an interview for "open channel" which is available on demon fm . If you are visiting a club to see and hear D'honcho expect not to stand still ! as he drops some deep soulful house with infectious grooves mashed up with multiple deck mixes accapellas and effects to deliver one of his captivating sets.
